Shelbourne: League of Ireland side hand out lifetime ban to spectator

League of Ireland Premier Division leaders Shelbourne have issued a lifetime ban to a spectator who threw an object at a match official.
The incident occurred in stoppage time of Shelbourne's 2-2 draw away to Drogheda United on 5 April.
Play was suspended for 15 minutes and manager Damien Duff said that "one person has embarrassed the whole club".
Shels said they have a "zero tolerance" approach to anyone endangering the safety of players or officials.
Shelbourne are banned from taking away supporters to their away match at Galway United on Friday following the incident, in which an assistant referee was struck with a flare following Shels' late equaliser in Drogheda.
"Effective immediately, Shelbourne FC will enforce lifetime bans for individuals found: attempting to bring pyrotechnics into the ground; using pyrotechnics within Tolka Park or at away grounds; entering the pitch at any time; throwing any object onto the pitch," a statement from the Dublin club said.
"The safety and security of everyone at Tolka Park is our primary concern. The club is committed to ensuring that everyone who attends our games has a safe, positive and enjoyable experience."
