Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is convinced Marcus Rashford has the talent to become a striker of Harry Kane’s class.

The in-form England team-mates will come face to face when Manchester United play Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday.

Kane has seven goals in his past six games but Solskjaer is adamant Rashford, who has scored five times in his last eight outings and been liberated by United’s interim manager, has all the makings of a world-class centre-forward.

“He can become a top, top striker,” Solskjaer said. “We can talk about Harry Kane and his class and I’m sure Marcus as well has the potential to get up there. He has got frightening pace, he’s becoming stronger, he can now hold the ball up for us, he’s a great link player.

“He’s been brought up here so there were a couple of sessions with the young kids - [Tahith] Chong, Angel [Gomes] and him - and they play together in a certain way so he’s a very exciting player to work with.”
