Last updated on .From the section European Football
Leicester City striker Islam Slimani has joined French side Monaco on loan until the end of the season.
The Algerian, 31, joined the Foxes from Sporting Lisbon on a five-year deal in 2016 for £29m, a then club record.
He has also had loan spells with Fenerbahce in Turkey and at Premier League rivals Newcastle United.
Slimani, who has scored 13 goals in 46 Leicester appearances, could make his Monaco debut at home to Nimes in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Players tend to turn down moves to teams who haven't won the league for thirty years.
Top shout about racism as well as the plights of Bury and Bolton.
Just seen that Parkinson has resigned, can't blame him in the circumstances but makes me more worried for Bolton's future☹️
You oughta be deeply ashamed of yourselves.
Bury FC about to disappear and the FA do NOTHING. Spend some of the PL billions. Bury are part of British football history. Gigg Lane is one of the classic grounds, why don't the FA buy it? Do SOMETHING or we lose 130+ years of club heritage.
But they won't, they make rather than spend £££.
I'm not even a Bury fan but I care
Yorkshire giants who have won 5 PL titles? Bit early to be on the sherbert my friend!
We had to buy players to mount a champs league assault. If you look up the Foxes champs league record (statistically/games played) we are the most successful British side. Fact. Look it up and don't forget we were the first team to keep 4 clean sheets in our opening 4 champs league games.
I assume you were not impressed by the magnificent title win?
Thank you Vichai.
Couldn't agree more. BBC needs to think what's important.
As a football fan, who wants to see any club, particularly those with the history of Bury and Bolton, go to the wall?
